Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Milos Jankovic, an independent developer (“we”, “us”, “the publisher”), for the Word Climb game and the Word Climb website.

If you use the app on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Word Climb for personal, non-commercial entertainment and learning on devices you own or control.

This licence does not transfer ownership. It ends if you stop using the app, delete it, or breach these terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app except where the law expressly allows it;
• resell, rent, sublicense or distribute the app or its assets as a separate product;
• remove copyright, licence or attribution notices;
• use the app in a way that breaks applicable law or harms other people;
• interfere with the app's security or attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or data.

Personal use includes playing the game, choosing your own vocabulary and taking screenshots or short clips for reviews, streams and classroom use. Please credit Word Climb when you publish substantial footage.

4. Ownership and credits

The Word Climb name, code, word lists, level design and original artwork are owned by the publisher or used under licence. The Pixel Adventure art pack by Pixel Frog is released under CC0; see the credits page for full attribution.

German vocabulary and translations are curated for this game. They are provided for learning and may contain mistakes or regional variations. They are not an official examination resource.

5. App stores and platform terms

Word Climb may be distributed through Google Play, the Apple App Store or both. Your use of a store is also governed by that store's terms. If those terms conflict with these terms, the store's terms apply to the extent required.

Apple: If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and the publisher only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms. Apple's standard licensed application end-user licence terms also apply.

Google Play: If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google Play's terms of service apply in addition to these terms.

6. No warranty

Word Climb is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the vocabulary is error-free, that the app will run on every device or OS version, or that a future update will preserve a particular saved climb. Back up anything you consider important.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost progress, lost profits or interruption of use, arising from or related to Word Climb.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.

8. Changes and availability

We may update, change or discontinue the app or these terms. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page and, where practical, mention the change in the app or store listing. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

The app is currently free. We have no plans to add ads or in-app purchases to this version. If a future version adds optional paid content, it will be clearly disclosed before purchase.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence continue to apply.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
